Road Trip!

The National Road was Indiana's first interstate highway.  It was also known as the Cumberland Road.  The 600-mile road ran from Vandalia, Illinois to Cumberland, Maryland.  It took 30 years to build.  U.S. Route 40 now follows the path of the National Road.
