Honest Abe!

Abraham Lincoln was president of the United States during the Civil War.  Many historians consider Lincoln to be our nation's greatest president.  He helped to end slavery, and was an excellent public speaker.  Many of his speeches, like the "Gettysburg Address," are still quoted today.  Lincoln moved to Indiana from Kentucky when he was a young boy.
