Jim Davis grew up on an Indiana farm with 25 cats.  Those cats were the inspiration for his award-winning comic strip "Garfield."  The main character in his comic strip is a cat named Garfield who loves lasagna!  Jim began drawing as a child when he had to stay in bed because of his asthma (difficulty breathing).
