Practical Tips to Evaluate Credibility

Tips:

  • "How am I supposed to know..." questions can often be answered with a quick google search. Ex: "How am I supposed to know if the author is credible in this subject area?" (so you google the person) "Oh, he was a professor at Harvard and wrote 3 books about the subject. Credible."

  • If a ~ symbol is part of a .edu URL, it's a student page on the school website. Don't use it.

  • You can trust that books in the library and most articles on our school databases are credible.
