Need community service hours? Volunteer at the library!

Circ desk: Work up front in the mornings before school! You'll check out books and assist other students. The shift is from 8:25 am to 8:55 am. This position requires training, which occurs at the beginning of each semester. Check the calendar for upcoming training dates. Students who were trained in past years are able to sign up on the calendar immediately.
Influencer: This job also takes place from 8:25 am to 8:55 am, but it lasts all week. You'll be the guest hosting the @ihslib accounts on social media. This position does not require technical training, but it does require maturity and trust! Check the calendar for upcoming dates.
Special projects: These projects will surface from time to time. Check the library calendar occasionally to look for these.

Activity Period in the Library

There are different activities every week! Sign-ups are open each Monday during homeroom. There's a cap on enrollment, so don't forget! The sign-up link will be the same every week. bit.ly/activity1920.

Like-minded Individuals

You might just find your people in the library. They could be lounging on a couch or examining the shelves. If you see a person near books you like, say hi!

If you're a reader...

Consider joining the Battle of the Books team. It's a trivia contest based on 12 pre-selected books. IHS competes against the other high schools in March of each year. If you're interested, check out the BotB link on the main library Canvas page.

If you're a writer, or think you might want to be...

Consider joining Writer's Club. It's an IHS organization sponsored by Mrs. Christina Anderson. Mrs. Stone helps with the group, which meets in the library on Wednesdays during activity period.

Games & Programs

There's always something happening in the library. We have a makerspace full of gadgets and art projects, games, puzzles, and much more! Several times a year there are contests with prizes.
