- Choose your topic or use the one given to you by your teacher.
- Brainstorm subcategories of your topic.
- Choose Google or Topic Finder. See the examples for each below.
- With Google, pen, & paper:
- Do a Google Search for background topic information. My (quick) example:

- Brainstorming with pen & paper

- Or, use Topic Finder.
- Open Topic Finder (MackinVIA databases > Google PowerSearch) and search your topic there. My example:
